The Dodgers erased a 5-0 deficit after four innings to capture the World Series four games to one for their 8th title in franchise history.

The Dodgers won the first three games; 6-3 in 10 innings on Friday, 4-2 on Saturday and 4-2 on Monday.

The Yankees took Game 4 by an 11-4 score on Tuesday.

The (7-2-0-1) Under-18 Cariboo Cougars host the (3-4-0-1) Vancouver North West Hawks Saturday night at 6:30 and Sunday morning at 10:30 at Kin 1.

Cariboo is tied for first in the 8-team BC Elite Hockey League alongside the (7-2-0-1) Valley West Giants, a point ahead of the (7-3) Fraser Valley Thunderbirds.

Canada West Basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves start their Canada West men’s and women’s basketball season Friday night in Kelowna when they visit the UBC Okanagan Heat (5:00 and 7:00).

The UNBC home openers take to the court on Sunday against Thompson Rivers University of Kamloops starting with the women at 2:00 followed by the men at 4:00.

PG High School Football:

The PG Bowl (North Zone High School Football Championship) will be played Friday night at 7:00 at Masich Place Stadium.

Week 9 of the NFL season starts tonight (Thursday 5:15) with (6-2) Houston at the (2-6) New York Jets. The Jets have lost five straight.

The CFL Division semi-finals take to the field Saturday.

The (9-9) B.C. Lions visit the (9-8-1) Saskatchewan Roughriders (3:30 PM) with the winner to play at the (11-7) Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the West Final on November 9th.

In the East, the (9-8-1) Ottawa Redblacks visit the (10-8) Toronto Argonauts (Saturday noon) with the winner to visit the (12-5-1) Montreal Alouettes on November 9th.

The 111th Grey Cup will be played on Sunday, November 17th in Vancouver.
