Halloween is only a few hours away, which means more pedestrians will be around roads.
RCMP is providing safety tips to remind kids and parents to take extra precautions when trick or treating.
They said to make sure costumes are visible at night, made of flame-retardant material, fit properly, and if it has a mask, to make sure you can see through it.
Police add to make sure any and all candy has been inspected, is undamaged and wrapped properly, avoid homemade treats, and if there’s any doubt to throw it out.
As for pedestrian safety, RCMP say to stay on sidewalks, use crosswalks whenever possible, stop and check for cars before crossing, and to walk in groups and stay together.
