Voter turnout increased in Prince George area ridings

Prince George area ridings saw a higher percentage of voter turnout during last Saturday’s provincial election, compared to 2020.

The Prince George-Mackenzie riding saw 56 percent of eligible voters cast a ballot, up from roughly 49 percent in 2020.

Prince George-Valemount saw about 53 percent of eligible voters go to the polls, compared to just over 47 percent four years prior.

Voter turnout in Prince George-North Cariboo was close to 60 percent, ten points higher (50.2) than in 2020 when it was the Cariboo North riding.

The overall initial provincial voter turnout was 57.45 percent.

Elections BC confirmed the final count for the 2024 election will take place October 26th to the 28th.
