WHL:

The top two teams in the BC Division of the WHL meet this weekend at CN Centre.

The (6-4-2-1) P.G. Cougars host the (7-2-1-1) Victoria Royals tonight (Friday) at 7:00 and Saturday night at 6:00.

The Royals are a point ahead of the Cougars and Victoria has two games in hand.

The Cougars have won 15 of the last 17 regular season match-ups against the Royals over the last two seasons, including 7-1 in 2023-24.

The (3-7-1-1) Prince George Spruce Kings, who have lost their last five, visit the (2-7-2) Powell River Kings in a doubleheader tonight and Saturday night at 7:00.

BC Elite Hockey League:

The (7-0-0-1) U-18 Cougars visit the (5-2-0-1) Valley West Giants Saturday night at 5:00 and Sunday morning at 9:30 in Langley.

This is a matchup of the top two teams in the 8-team BC Elite Hockey league.

The (3-1-2) Vancouver Canucks host Pittsburgh Saturday night at 7:00 to begin a 3-game homestand.

NFL: (Start of Week 8)

CFL:

This is the final weekend of the CFL regular season.

First place in the West will be decided Saturday as the (10-7) Winnipeg Blue Bombers visit Montreal at noon followed by the (9-7-1) Saskatchewan Roughriders hosting Calgary at 4 PM.

Winnipeg is in top spot by a point over Saskatchewan.

The (9-9) B.C. Lions will start the playoffs on the road at either Saskatchewan or Winnipeg on Saturday, November 2nd.

MLB:

The World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees begins tonight (5:08) in LA.

It is a 2-3-2 format with the middle three games (Oct 28th to 30th) scheduled for Yankee Stadium.

NBA: 

The (0-1) Toronto Raptors host the Philadelphia 76ers tonight (4:00) in their second NBA game of the season.

Canada West Basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves begin their Canada West men’s and women’s basketball season on Friday, November 1st when they visit the UBC Okanagan Heat in Kelowna (5 and 7 PM).

The UNBC home openers will go on Sunday, November 3rd against Thompson Rivers University of Kamloops starting with the women at 2:00 followed by the men at 4:00.
