Aircraft makes emergency landing on Highway 16

A plane landed safely on Highway 16 between Smithers and Telkwa last night (Tuesday) just before 6:00.

According to RCMP, the Cessna aircraft experienced mechanical issues prompting the emergency landing.

There were no reported injuries to those in the aircraft and there was no damage to the plane or surrounding area.

Transport Canada is conducting the investigation with the Ministry of Transportation and Highway Infrastructure was on scene to assess the highway.
