WHL:

Prince George Cougars  8  Medicine Hat Tigers  1 

Special teams and goaltending were the difference in the Cougars victory.

Prince George went 3-for-7 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.

Josh Ravensbergen made 33 saves as Medicine Hat outshot Prince George 34-31.

The Cougars got goals from eight different players.

Riley Heidt and Terik Parascak each notched a goal and two assists.

Captain Heidt also had a fight early in first period.

The (6-3-2-1) Cougars conclude a 3-game Alberta road trip Friday in Lethbridge against the (5-1-1) Hurricanes.

The Dodgers lead the series 2-1 with Game 4 tonight (Thursday at 5:08) in New York.

The American League Championship Series will resume this afternoon in Cleveland with the New York Yankees ahead of the Guardians 2-0.

The Canada West Soccer season wraps up on the road this weekend for the UNBC Timberwolves.

The (1-11) UNBC women visit the (7-3-2) Trinity Western Spartans Friday night at 5:00 and the (2-8-2) Fraser Valley Cascades Sunday afternoon a 1:00.

The (1-11-2) UNBC men play in Kamloops against the (1-11-2) Thompson Rivers Wolfpack Friday and Saturday at 7 PM.

The (8-9) B.C. Lions conclude their regular season on Saturday (4 PM) when they host the (12-3-1) Montreal Alouettes.

The Lions will finish 3rd in the West Division and will start the playoffs on the road at either Saskatchewan or Winnipeg on Saturday, November 2nd.

The Alouettes have clinched top spot in the East and the overall standings.
