Weekend weather: an ideal time to enjoy fall

It’s looking like a prime weekend to get outside and enjoy the changing colours!

After a week of flip-flopping conditions, Environment Canada Meteorologist Lisa Coldwells says the weather will be looking very typical for this time of year.

“There is going to be a kind of broad, weaker ridge over the province, giving a mainly sunny weekend to every place from Prince George south to the US border.”

Coldwells adds that daytime highs will hover around 14 degrees, with heavy fog patches expected in the mornings, while Northwestern BC has been dealt some fog and rain.

But next week could see things turning a little grey in PG territory, which Coldwells says is the usual for the last week of September.

“Kind of a mix of cloud, a little bit of sun peaking out, a couple of showers, and the temperatures stay very close to the 15 degree mark. Pretty unremarkable weather for the next week or so.”

While we’ve had a few frosty mornings already, Coldwells says to look out for morning lows already dipping into the negative temperatures.

All the more reason to go get a festive, hot drink!
