The Prince George RCMP Detachment has a new officer in charge.
On Wednesday, October 2nd, Inspector Darin Rappel was promoted to the rank of Superintendent, following candidate interviews that the City had a hand in.
Rappel was the Officer in Charge of Plain Clothes Services at the Prince George Detachment since early 2017, and has 23 years of service with the RCMP.
Before joining Prince George, he began his service in Williams Lake and was later posted to the Kamloops detachment, working in Serious Crime, Property Crime, and in the Professional Responsibility Unit.
Rappel looks forward to working with members of the Prince George Detachment, and the many partners in the community, while continuing to make public safety a priority.
The previous officer in charge, Superintendent Shaun Wright has retired from the RCMP.
