Today (Wednesday), the BCHL club signed 19-year-old forward Ethan Montroy for the remainder of the season.

The native of Ottawa, Ontario has a total of 86 points in 65 games in the CCHL, while also adding 4 goals and 3 assists in 46 OHL games for the Soo Greyhounds from 2021-2023.

“Ethan is a skilled player who plays the game hard in all areas. We have had our eye on him for some time now. We’re thrilled to add him to our team as he will add an element to our forward group that will make us better.” said Mike Hawes, Spruce Kings General Manager.

In addition, the Spruce Kings have acquired 2005-born defenseman Erik Sollied from the Nanaimo Clippers, in exchange for future considerations.

The product of Langley has played in 68 BCHL games over the past three seasons, split between Nanaimo and the Merritt Centennials.

He’s tallied three goals and 11 assists in that time.

“Erik is a veteran BCHL player who will come in and help solidify our back end,” Hawes said.

“He’s also a tremendous young man who will fit seamlessly into our program. We’re thrilled to add him.”

PG is back in action against the Surrey Eagles Friday (7pm) and Saturday (6pm) from the Kopar Memorial Arena.
