WHL:
The Prince George Cougars have their first road trip of the season which consists of five games.
The (1-0-1) Cougars start the trip by visiting the (2-0) Vancouver Giants Friday night at 7:00 and the (1-0) Wenatchee Wild Sunday afternoon at 4:00.
The Cougars will have four veteran players back in their lineup as forwards Hunter Laing and Borya Valis plus defencemen Bauer Dumanski and Viliam Kmec have been returned to the Cats by their NHL teams.
There is also a good chance that Washington Capitals first round draft pick, Terik Parascak will be back with the Cats at some point on the road trip which includes games in Kelowna on Wednesday, Seattle (Friday, Oct 4th) and Portland (Saturday, Oct 5th).

BCHL:
The (2-1) Prince George Spruce Kings have their home opener Friday night at 7:00 against the (2-0) Coquitlam Express.
Pre-Game festivities will begin at 5:30 with an outdoor barbecue.
The same teams also play Saturday night at 6:00 at the Kopar Memorial Arena.

Canada West Soccer:
The UNBC Timberwolves will be home this weekend in men’s action and on the road in the women’s division in Canada West Soccer.
The (1-7-2) UNBC men host the (2-4-1) Trinity Western Spartans Saturday afternoon at 1:00 and Sunday afternoon at 1:00.
The (1-5) UNBC women’s soccer team visits (3-3-1) UBC Okanagan Friday night at 5:00 in Kelowna and (2-4-1) Thompson Rivers University Saturday night at 5:00 in Kamloops.

BC Football Conference:
For their final home game of their BC Football Conference season, the Prince George Kodiaks will take to the field as the “Lheidli T’enneh Kodiaks” to honour the upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
In addition to the name change, the Lheidli T’enneh Kodiaks will also be sporting new jerseys featuring the First Nation’s logo.

The Kodiaks host the Kamloops Broncos Saturday night at 6:00 at Masich Place Stadium.
Both teams are 1-7 and will also meet again on Saturday, October 5th (at 6 PM) in Kamloops.

The 4th week of the NFL season begins this evening (Thursday 5:15) with the Dallas Cowboys at the New York Giants.
Both teams are 1-2 and a game behind the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders in the NFC East.

CFL:
The (7-7) B.C. Lions play their fourth last regular season game when they host the (5-9) Hamilton Tiger Cats Friday night at 7:30.
The Lions are two points behind the West Division leading Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The (8-6) Blue Bombers, riding a 6-game winning streak, begin Week 17 hosting the (5-9) Edmonton Elks Friday night at 5:00.

MLB:
Seattle Mariners 8 Houston Astros 1
The (82-77) Mariners are 2.5 games out of the final A.L. Wild Card spot with just three games remaining.
Seattle will close with three home games against the Oakland A’s Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Toronto Blue Jays 6 Boston Red Sox 1
Toronto ended a 5-game losing streak.
The (74-85) Blue Jays host the Miami Marlins Friday, Saturday and Sunday to finish out their season.
