Mounties are investigating a hit-and-run that claimed the life of a pedestrian.
The Vanderhoof RCMP and BC Highway Patrol were called to a of a collision on Highway 16 near Jardine Road at 9:28 Friday evening.
According to police, when they arrived it was evident the pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle that did not remain at the scene.
The adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is active and police are looking to the public for witnesses or anyone who may have been in the area between 9:00 and 10:00 on the night in question.
