The 2004-born defenceman has signed a three-year deal with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Kmec was invited to the team’s development camp this past July, coming off a 2023-24 season in which he notched nine goals and 25 assists in 58 games with the Cats.
The product of Kosice, Slovakia also represented his home country at the 2024 World Juniors, and helped lead the Vegas rookies to a 3-0-0 record at the 2024 Rookie Faceoff in Los Angeles.
Kmec will be returning to the Cougars this week, as they head out on a five-game road swing, starting in Vancouver on Friday.
