The Prince George Spruce Kings started their season off with a bang, knocking off the defending BC champion Surrey Eagles 4-1.
Cooper Williams netted the first goal of the season for the Spruce Kings, just over a minute into the campaign.
Aidan Souligny and Aidan Carolan lit the lamp in the second for Prince George.
Brandon Gill gave the Eagles hope in the third, scoring Surrey’s lone goal on the powerplay.
Kazumo Sasaki put the game on ice for the Spruce Kings putting the puck into the empty net.
Carter Wishart made 30 saves for the Spruce Kings in the win.
The Spruce Kings continue their three-game road weekend tonight in Chilliwack.
