Williams Lake resident wins $100,000 from scratch and win ticket

A Williams Lake resident is $100,000 dollars richer thanks to a scratch and win ticket.

Salena Boehm purchased the ticket at Save-On-Foods on Oliver Street, and validated it with a self-scanner.

Boehm told the British Columbia Lottery Corporation she thought the machine was broken.

She added “my mother was there with me and had to tell me it was real, because it took me a while to process.”

Boehm celebrated the win by taking her parents to dinner and discussed her dream trip of an African adventure, which she will soon take, as well as pay off her home and a new life jacket for her dog to use when kayaking.

She said the win is humbling, amazing and overwhelming.
