A local forestry advocate has been picked to run in October’s provincial election by the BC Greens.
James Steidle will take a stab at the Prince George-Mackenzie riding.
He grew up on an isolated cattle ranch near Prince George and has deep roots in the forestry industry.
Steidle has long been passionate for local communities as he runs a woodworking business that highlights underutilized species like aspen.
His focus is on opposing harmful practices such as herbicide spraying and pushing for better management of BC’s forests to ensure they benefit local economies rather than global multinationals.
Kiel Giddens will represent the Conservatives while School District 57 trustee Rachael Weber is slated as an Independent.
Fellow school district trustee Shar McCrory was selected by the NDP.
