PG RCMP hosting Block Party, Career Information Session

A busy weekend is on tap for the Prince George RCMP from a public relations point of view.

The detachment is hosting Career Presentation information session tonight (Friday) starting at 6:30 at its Victoria Street location.

Those interested can learn more about the recruitment process and what is expected for each stage.

“Joining the RCMP has proved to be a very rewarding experience for my personal and professional growth. I have always looked forward to becoming a police officer and I am glad I was able to join this organization because the opportunities are truly endless. I believe that Policing is a challenging journey and will require your best, but it’s also extremely fulfilling and is a dream come true,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

Tomorrow (Saturday), the RCMP is holding a Block Party from 10am to 2pm.

It’s to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the detachment’s downtown opening.

“We want this to be a family-friendly celebration that will also help to showcase some of the units that work inside the Detachment. Policing has changed in the ten years since the Detachment first opened and this is a great opportunity for our community members to come and meet some police officers and explore what their units do,” states Inspector Darin Rappel, acting Detachment Commander for the Prince George RCMP.

Police officers from our Traffic Services Section, General Investigative Section, Special Victims Unit, Victim Services Unit, Community Policing, STRIVE and others will be hosting tables that people can visit.
