WHL:

With just a week to go before the regular season starts, the Prince George Cougars play their final two preseason games this weekend.

They have a doubleheader against the Blazers; tonight (Friday) at 7:00 in Kamloops and Saturday night at 5:00 in Quesnel.

The Cougars open the regular season at CN Centre when they host the Spokane Chiefs on September 20th and 21st.

BCHL:

The Prince George Spruce Kings have named forward Linden Makow their 23rd captain since joining the BCHL in 1996.

The 20-year-old Makow is from Vanderhoof who enters his 5th and final year with the team.

Over 143 BCHL Regular Season Games, he has put up 70 points, including 35 goals.

The Spruce Kings conclude their preseason schedule this weekend when they host the Langley Rivermen tonight at 7:00 and Saturday afternoon at 2:00.

The Spruce Kings begin their regular season on September 20th at Surrey.

Canada West Soccer:

The UNBC Timberwolves have four Canada West soccer home games this weekend at Masich Place Stadium.

The (0-2) UNBC women host the (1-2) Thompson Rivers Wolfpack tonight at 5:00 and the (2-1) UBC Okanagan Heat Sunday at noon.

The (0-4-2) UNBC men entertain the (2-1-2) Calgary Dinos this evening at 7:30 and the (0-3-1) MacEwan Griffens Sunday afternoon at 2:30.

BC Football Conference:

The (1-6) Prince George Kodiaks have the third last game of their BC Football Conference season when they host the (7-0) Okanagan Sun Saturday night at 6:00 at Masich Place Stadium.

The Kodiaks are riding a six game losing streak.

Prince George will conclude its schedule season with a home and home against the (1-5) Kamloops Broncos: Saturday, September 28th at 6pm at Masich Place Stadium and Saturday, October 5th at 6pm in Kamloops.

NFL: (Week 2)

Buffalo Bills  31  Miami Dolphins  10

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left the game in the 3rd quarter after suffering a concussion, the third diagnosed concussion of his NFL career.

CFL: (Week 15)

The (7-6) BC Lions start Week 15 of the CFL season when they host the (6-6) Toronto Argonauts tonight at 7:00.

The Lions are tied with the (7-6) Winnipeg Blue Bombers for top spot in the West Division.

MLB:

Texas Rangers  5  Seattle Mariners  4

The (74-73) Mariners continue a 9-game homestand tonight (Friday 7:10) against the (71-76) Rangers.

Seattle is in second place in the AL West, 4.5 games behind the (78-68) Houston Astros.

The (69-78) Toronto Blue Jays, with just 15 games left in their season, continue a 6-game homestand tonight (4:07) against the St. Louis Cardinals.
