NFL: (Final game in Week 1 of the season)

San Francisco 49ers  32  New York Jets  19

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers threw for 167 yards and one TD and also had an interception exactly 52 weeks to the day after his debut with New York ended with a torn Achilles after four snaps.

BC Football Conference:

The (1-6) Prince George Kodiaks, coming off a 31-11 loss to the Valley Huskers, host the (7-0) Okanagan Sun Saturday night at 6:00 at Masich Place Stadium in the BCFC.

The Kodiaks have dropped their last six after winning their opener.

Prince George will conclude its season with a home and home against the (1-5) Kamloops Broncos: Saturday, September 28th at 6pm at Masich Place Stadium and Saturday, October 5th at 6pm in Kamloops.

MLB:

New York Mets  3  Toronto Blue Jays  2

The (68-77) Blue Jays, with just 17 games left in their season, continue a 6-game homestand tonight (Tuesday 4:07) against the (79-65) Mets.

The (73-71) Seattle Mariners begin a 9-game homestand tonight (Tuesday 6:40) against the (81-64) San Diego Padres.

Seattle is in second place in the AL West, 4.5 games behind the (77-66) Houston Astros.

WHL:

The Prince George Cougars play their final two preseason games against the Blazers; Friday (7PM) in Kamloops and Saturday (5PM) in Quesnel.

The Cougars lost their first two exhibition games; 6-3 and 6-2 to the Edmonton Oil Kings in Edson, Alberta.

P.G. will open its regular season on September 20th against Spokane at CN Centre.

BCHL:

The Prince George Spruce Kings host the Langley Rivermen Friday night at 7:00 and Saturday afternoon at 2:00 in their final two preseason games.

The Spruce Kings split their first two exhibition games on the road; a 3-2 OT victory over Coquitlam was followed by a 5-2 loss to Surrey.

They will start their regular season on September 20th at Surrey.

Canada West Soccer:

The UNBC Timberwolves will be home this weekend in Canada West men’s and women’s action at Masich Place Stadium.

The (0-2) UNBC women host the (1-2) Thompson Rivers Wolfpack Friday night at 5:00 and the (2-1) UBC Okanagan Heat Sunday at noon.

The (0-4-2) UNBC men entertain the (2-1-2) Calgary Dinos Friday night at 7:30 and the (0-3-1) MacEwan Griffens Sunday afternoon at 2:30.

CFL:

With five games to go for the B.C. Lions in the CFL regular season, the (7-6) Lions are tied with the (7-6) Winnipeg Blue Bombers for top spot in the West Division.

The Lions, who have won their last two, host the (6-6) Toronto Argonauts Friday night at 7:00 to begin week 15.

The Blue Bombers are off this week.
