The Vancouver Canucks are still lighting up the city…
Classic Canuck Kirk McLean joined Brandon Sutter and Luca Sbisa in an afternoon trip to Quinson Elementary School.
They teamed up with ‘Fin’ for a stellar rendition of ‘Giraffes Don’t Dance’, and took part in a special assembly with a jeopardy-style showdown with the kids.
“The excitement level is unbelievable,” says Quinson Principal Deanna Hood, “The whole building has been filled with energy and laughter all day. It was wonderful to have the organization at our school here today.”
The guys were promoting the several initiatives, including Fin’s Friends, Power Play, and Future Goals.
“Seeing the kids laughing, it’s a pretty cool feeling,” says Sbisa, “Just such genuine laughs. Nothing fake to it, they just see Fin and think it’s the funnest thing ever.”
“It’s pretty cool to see how excited they are,” added Sutter, “I’m sure it’s surreal for them, kind of a once-in-a-lifetime thing. It doesn’t take much for us to come out and spend an hour or two with them, and they really appreciate it. Hopefully it’s something they’ll remember forever.”
