Hockey:

The Prince George Cougars four-day training camp runs from Thursday to Sunday at CN Centre.

The Cougars start their four-game preseason schedule on Sept 6th and 7th in Edson, Alberta against the Edmonton Oil Kings.

The Prince George Spruce Kings three-day training camp will begin on Friday afternoon and conclude on Sunday at the Kopar Memorial Arena.

They start the pre-season on Friday, Sept. 6th at Coquitlam.

 

BCFC: 

Prince George Kodiaks kicker Brady Harper is the BCFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Harper was 2/2 on field goals and 3/3 on converts in the Kodiaks 43-27 loss to the Kamloops Broncos.

The (1-5) PG Kodiaks have the bye this long weekend in the BC Football Conference.

The Kodiaks, who have lost their last five, have four games left in their season: at Valley Huskers (Sat. Sept. 7th at 7 PM, home against Okanagan (Sat. Sept. 14th at 6 PM at Masich Place Stadium), home against the Kamloops Broncos (Sat. Sept. 28th at 6 PM at Masich Place Stadium) and at Kamloops (Sat. Oct. 5th at 6 PM).

The Kodiaks have scored 126 points (average of 21 per game) while allowing 282 (average of 47 per game).

CFL: 

The (5-6) B.C. Lions will try to end a 5-game losing streak when they host the (7-2-1) Ottawa Redblacks Saturday at 4 PM in Victoria.

The Lions are coming off a 34-27 loss to the Redblacks in Ottawa.

MLB:

Toronto Blue Jays  4  Boston Red Sox  1  (1st game)

Toronto Blue Jays  7  Boston Red Sox  3  (2nd game)

The (65-68) Blue Jays, riding a 6-game winning streak, continue on the road tonight (Tuesday 4:10) in Boston against the (67-64) Red Sox.

The (67-65) Mariners host the (65-66) Rays again tonight (Tuesday 6:40).

Seattle is in second place in the AL West, 3 1/2 games behind the (70-61) Houston Astros.

Canada West Soccer:

The (0-2) UNBC Timberwolves men’s soccer team will host the (2-0) Victoria Vikes in their first home games of the season Friday and Saturday night at 6:00 at Masich Place Stadium.
