CFL: 

The kickoff to Week 12 of the CFL season goes tonight (Thursday at 4:30) with (5-4-1) Saskatchewan at (5-4) Toronto.

The (5-5) B.C. Lions, who have dropped their last four, play Saturday (4 PM) in Ottawa against the (6-2-1) Redblacks.

Ottawa is the only team in the league without a loss at home this season, going 4-0-1.

BCFC: 

The (1-4) Prince George Kodiaks host the (0-4) Kamloops Broncos Saturday night at 6:00 at Masich Place Stadium.

The Kodiaks have lost four straight and are midway through their 10-game schedule.

UNBC Timberwolves:

The UNBC Timberwolves begin their Canada West men’s soccer season when they visit the Fraser Valley Cascades Friday night at 6:00 and Sunday afternoon at 1:00.

UNBC is ranked 11th and Fraser Valley 10th out of 13 teams in the Canada West preseason coaches poll.

The Timberwolves home openers will be August 30th and 31st (6:00 each night) against the Victoria Vikes.

The UNBC women’s soccer team will open its season September 6th at Mount Royal.

Hockey:

The Prince George Cougars and P.G. Spruce Kings have added to their staff for the 2024-25 season.
 
Dave Adolph, who is a P.G. resident will join the Cougars as their new Athletic Therapist and Strength Conditioning Coach. 
 
He was previously the  Director of High Performance at Engage Sport North.
 
The Spruce Kings have hired three new hockey operations staff members, Athletic Therapist Michael Miller, Goalie Coach Chris Joyce, and Strength and Conditioning Coach Chase Astorino.
 
Miller will be moving to Prince George from Ontario, both Joyce and Astorino are from Prince George.

 

 

MLB:

Cincinnati Reds  11  Toronto Blue Jays  7

The (59-68) Blue Jays are 1-2 on a 7-game homestand that continues tonight (Thursday 4:07) against the (54-73) LA Angels.

LA Dodgers  8  Seattle Mariners  4

The Mariners finished just 1-8 on a 9-game homestand.

Seattle starts a 6-game homestand Friday night at 7:10 against the (65-64) San Francisco Giants.

The (64-64) Mariners are in second place in the A.L. West, 5 games behind the (68-58) Houston Astros.
