As many post-secondary and high school students get set for summer, many are on the hunt for a job.
However employment offices in the city are seeing many youth competing with people of an older generation for part time and full time work.
Employment Action Executive Director Lori Forgeron says she’s seen a lot of youth coming to her agency.
Forgeron says youth looking for a job are asked to contact Work BC offices.
According to Statistics Canada, in the first quarter of 2014, youth unemployment in BC was at 12.3%.
