Northern Development Initiative Trust has announced its latest wave of project funding.
Six projects across Northern BC are receiving a combined $1.1 million.
Theatre Northwest was given $116,449 for lighting and sound upgrades.
The District of Mackenzie got $283,147 for upgrades to their recreation centre, which includes plans to upgrade the swimming pool and washrooms.
The Dawson Creek Golf and Country Club was approved for $198,020 for driving range improvements, including better netting and lighting.
The District of Lillooet was given $150,000 Â for the rehabilitation of the Miyazaki Heritage House.
$142,650 was approved for the Gitmaxmak’ay Nisga’a Prince Rupert/Port Edward Society to install a hydroponic greenhouse. Their current greenhouse helped feed 1,500 people during the pandemic.
The South Peace 0 Mile Park Society got $300,000 to build a new “all-wheels” park in Dawson Creek that will “feature a beginner-friendly pump track, skills park and adult pump track.”
