Suspicious death in Mackenzie under investigation by Major Crimes Unit

The North District Major Crime Unit is looking into the suspicious death of a person in Mackenzie.

Early this morning (Friday), the RCMP responded to a report of shots fired at a residence located on Bijoux Drive and located a deceased man outside the home.

Cpl. Madonna Saunderson told Vista Radio the major crimes unit is working closely with the local detachment and the BC Coroners Service.

“We can expect to see an increased police presence in the area for the next several days while this investigation continues. This death appears to be an isolated incident and the police believe there is no further danger to the public.”

The North District Major Crime Unit is looking to speak with anyone who may have any information relating to the incident
