Regional District of Fraser-Fort George fire departments called to assist in Jasper

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is sending support to Jasper.

“The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George received a request through the BC Wildfire Service to provide assistance to the Jasper wildfire fighting effort,” said Public Information Officer Hilary Erasmus.

“We have deployed crews and units from three volunteer firefighting departments.”

Erasmus noted that includes the Beaverly, McBride and Valemount fire departments, and they’re currently on site assisting.

Artemis Gold planning upgrades for Blackwater Mine

Artemis Gold Inc. is planning an upgrade for the current Blackwater Mine processing plant."The Phase 1A plans announced today will deliver a 33 per cent increase in plant capacity, at an industry leading capital intensity of less than $55 per annual tonne of throughput. The project will be funded out of operating cash flows, and the payback period is expected to be less than six months," said Artemis Gold CEO Dale Andres.
