Limited spots are left for Special Olympics Prince George’s 28th Annual Golf Tournament set for July 26th.
The event is the main fundraiser for Special Olympics in Prince George.
This year, the goal is to raise $80,000.
Last year’s tournament exceeded expectations, bringing in $119,000.

All the funds raised through the event stays in Prince George provide essential resources, training programs, and equipment necessary for the athlete’s participation in a wide range of sporting events, such as bocce.
Prince George’s athletes traveled to Burns Lake this weekend to compete in their first ever Bocce Regional Qualifier.
Two Prince George teams, made up of four players each competed in the event.
“Sneak attack”, consisting of Ruth Caldwell, Tara Chiasson, Issac Goudal and Marinka Van Hage finished first in their division, winning two games and tying one.
The other Prince George team, named the ‘Italian Stallions’ and consisting of Audrey Nelson, Adrian Rosen Spencer Rourke and Adam Stokes, finished second in their divsion, winning one game and tying twice.
The two Prince George teams faced off once, resulting in one of the ties.
The Prince George athletes have been practicing since October, using the PGYSA’s indoor soccer fields during the winter, before moving outside for practice in May.
