Night market being held to support Chuck Chin Legacy Fund

“Chuck Chin is the reason why our events have done so well.”

That is according to Vicky Anglehart, a Love Local board member, who said the local photographer and well-known community member would “come out to every single event and post them on Facebook. He was one of our biggest supporters in town.”

Chin, a former citizen of the year, passed away in January.

The Prince George Community Foundation launched the Chuck Chin Legacy Fund in his memory, which will be the beneficiary of a night market being held later this month.

“We have a lineup of 115 vendors, 15 food trucks, live entertainment, and a petting zoo,” Anglehart said. “All of our vendors are donating silent auction items that will be auctioned off on our Facebook page.”

Some of Chin’s photography will also be auctioned off at the event.

All of the money raised at the event will go to the legacy fund – though what the legacy fund will go to is still up in the air.

Anglehart said Love Local and the Community Foundation “had a meeting with the Chin family last week, they are going to be picking something but they are not sure yet.”

The market will run from 4:30 – 9:00 on July 23rd in the CN Centre parking lot.
