England will battle Spain in the final Sunday at noon.
Paralympics:
24-year-old Joel Ewert of Prince George will be representing his country at the 2024 Paralympic Games.
Ewert is one of 12 athletes selected to Canada’s Men’s Wheelchair Rugby Team.
He will be one of three players on the team making their Paralympic debut.
The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games take place August 28th to September 8th.

Hockey:
Prince George Sports Hall of Fame member Don Nachbaur is the new head coach of the Wenatchee Wild of the WHL.
The 65-year-old Nachbaur is the third-winningest head coach in WHL history.
He spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach in the AHL.
He’s one of the greatest coaches in WHL history, and we’re grateful to be able to say the Nachbaur family has been part of the #WildFamily for years.

Former Prince George Cougars associate coach Steve O’Rourke has been named the
Oshawa Generals 36th head coach in team history.
He was the Generals associate coach for the past two seasons.
Oshawa reached the OHL Final in the 2023-24 season losing to the London Knights.
O’Rourke spent six seasons with the Cougars as an associate coach and their Director of Player Development.

Week 6 of the CFL season kicks off tonight (Thursday 4:30) with (2-2) Toronto at (5-0) Montreal.
The (4-1) B.C. Lions host the (4-0) Saskatchewan Roughriders Saturday afternoon at 4:00.

Golf:
None of the four Prince George golfers made the 36-hole cut (of 7-over) at the 122nd B.C. men’s amateur golf tournament at the Ledgeview Golf Club in Abbotsford.
James Fahy of Vancouver, at 8-under-132, has a one stroke lead over Cooper Humphreys of Vernon.
First-round leader Mackenzie Bickell of Richmond is 3rd at 5-under, three off the pace.
Former Smithers resident Wyatt Brook of Heffley Creek (which is near Kamloops) is 5 behind at 3-under and is tied for 6th.
