Province supports community adult literacy programs with funding

The BC Government is investing in community adult literacy programs across the province.

In total, the province is investing $3.4 million, which will directly support the delivery of adult, family and Indigenous literacy programs to help people gain skills in basic literacy, numeracy, life skills and employment preparation.

This includes programs in Prince George, Vanderhoof, Fort St. James, Quesnel, Valemount, and McBride.

A full list of recipients can be found here.

In 2022-23, the Community Adult Literacy Program served more than 5,275 core learners, and more than 8,000 individuals access literacy supports on a casual, drop-in basis.
