Minor injuries after cyclist and vehicle collide

Police are looking into a Saturday afternoon collision between a cyclist and a truck near the Upland Street and MacDonald Avenue intersection.

When officials arrived on the scene around 2:30pm, the cyclist and driver of the pickup were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses and evidence gathered lead police to believe the 47-year-old male cyclist failed to stop at the MacDonald Ave. stop sign and hit the pick up, which had the right of way.

Police say the cyclist wasn’t wearing a helmet, but had headphones on.

Motor Vehicle Act charges could potentially be pressed against the cyclist.
