PG Kodiaks:

The Prince George Kodiaks of the B.C. Football Conference have a new experienced quarterback.

The Kodiaks have come to terms with Sawyer Thiessen, who played last season with the University of Manitoba Bisons.

Thiessen was one of the over 100 players that attended the Kodiaks evaluation camp last month (May 10-12).

“It’s an honour to join such a well respected team in the community. Having an opportunity to compete with a new team in a beautiful city is a once in a lifetime chance, I intend to make the most of every moment” said Thiessen in a news release.

The Kodiaks begin their third season in the league on July 20th when they host the VI Raiders.

 

NHL:

The Stanley Cup Final will begin Saturday night in Florida with the Panthers home against the Edmonton Oilers.

Game 2 will also be played in Florida on Monday before the series shifts to Edmonton on Thursday and Saturday (June 13 and 15) of next week.

All games are scheduled to start just after 5:00.

CHL:

Zac Funk of the Prince George Cougars, who scored 67 goals in the regular season, has been named to the CHL First All-Star Team.

Funk’s teammate, Terik Parascak, was chosen to the CHL All-Rookie Team after racking up 105 points (including 43 goals).

The Prince George Cougars have announced they will open their 2024-25 regular season at home on Friday, September 20th against the Spokane Chiefs.

MLB:

The (28-31) Blue Jays are 2-2 on a 7-game homestand which continues tonight (Tuesday 4:07) against the (38-20) Orioles.

NBA: 

The NBA Final will begin on Thursday (5:30 PM start time) with the Dallas Mavericks at the Boston Celtics.

Game 2 will also be played in Boston on Sunday before the series shifts to Dallas for Games 3 and 4 on June 12th and 14th.

CFL:

The CFL regular season kicks off Thursday with Montreal at Winnipeg (5:30 PM).

The B.C. Lions open on Sunday at Toronto (4:00 PM).

The Lions home opener is set for Saturday, June 15th against Calgary.
