Terrace RCMP arrest man after Vancouver bound flight turned around

A WestJet flight bound for Vancouver was turned around on Monday (May 27th) due to an unruly passenger.

According to Terrace RCMP, the flight made an emergency landing at the Terrace Regional Airport after a passenger refused to remain seated during takeoff.

Officers were advised he also showed signs of paranoia and attempted to open the emergency exits.

He later admitted to taking an illegal substance prior to departure.

On the flight, passengers were able to assist in restraining the man until the plane landed, and Mounties were able to board the plane.

He was arrested for causing a disturbance and was taken into custody.

Police believed he was experiencing a health crisis and was sent to hospital for assessment.

Nobody was injured during the incident.
