Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the Lower Patricia encampment near 5th Avenue and Ottawa Street this afternoon (Monday) just before 5:00.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a shelter on fire.
According to the City of Prince George, crews were able to contain the blaze to the involved structure and there was no damage to the surrounding area.
The occupant of the shelter was not inside the shelter at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries.
The cause is under investigation.
This was the second blaze in the downtown area in as many days, as Prince George firefighters attended a structure fire on Sunday.
The first was a 3rd Avenue commercial structure fire that resulted in $100,000 damage.
