Harold Moffat, who would become mayor of Prince George from 1970-1979, is credited with the idea to create a mascot that showed the forestry industry’s importance to the town and region.
In his 64 years, Mr. PG has appeared in parades across the province and stood in multiple locations across the city before eventually settling at the highway intersection where he is now.
Mr. PG’s Son, formerly a telephone booth, still stands in the garden next to the exploration place.
