Rivers rising around PG

The Fraser and Nechako Rivers are flowing higher than normal this time of year.
According to the River Forecast Centre, the melt season is well underway and the rivers are starting to rise.
But Head Dave Campbell says they are still below the level of concern.
Campbell says a stretch of hot or wet weather could cause the river to rise to flood levels.
He says the weather outlook is looking benign at this point so that should allow for a steady melt in the snow pack.
The City of Prince George has closed Cottonwood Island Park as a precaution.
