Temperatures to dip back to seasonal following record-breaking warmth

Don’t put away the cold weather clothes just yet.

Seasonal temperatures are expected to make a return this week following record-breaking warm temperatures in the Prince George area.

Yesterday (Saturday), Prince George saw temperatures three-and-a-half degrees higher than the previous record for March 16th.

“The new record is 16.8, the old record was 13.3, that was set in 1947,” said Environment Canada Meteorologist Nan Lu.

She added no records fell in the Prince George area on Friday.

“The record was 19.4, on Friday, Prince George only got to 16 degrees.”

Today’s record is expected to fall, as temperatures are expected to rise to 17 degrees.

The record for March 17th is 13.3.

Warm temperatures are anticipated to stay warm until Tuesday.

“Starting Tuesday we will have a frontal system that will push down from the North and bring colder temperatures to the region and also a chance of flurries,” Lu said.

She said daytime highs will be around two and three degrees, with overnight lows around minus ten.
