Prince George City Council will pursue sending an advocacy delegation to Victoria to follow up and introduce items of concern.
Council voted in favour of the delegation at last night’s (Monday) meeting.
The purpose of the delegation will be to use the time to meet with provincial leaders to discuss requests that could enhance service delivery and reduce costs to items that are of importance regionally.
Councillor Garth Frizzell said this could be seen as sort of a pilot project.
“Back in 2009, a delegation went down to Victoria for one specific issue,” Frizzell said.
“There have been one-offs but not this pilot project where it’s a group with quite a comprehensive and a complex set of advocacy issues to bring forward.”
The proposal is to send the delegation to Victoria in the first six months of the year, with April the preferred month.
No specific items of advocacy to be discussed were mentioned at last night’s meeting.
