Fundraising efforts for a local athlete are underway.
High Jumper Alyx Treasure recently returned from a stint at the Pan Am games in Toronto.
Now, her family and friends are holding a dinner dance in order to raise funds for her continued success and training en route to the 2016 Olympics.
Treasure was humbled by the support from the locals:
“I couldn’t believe how many people have reached out to me, and congratulated me, and commented on the street and come and say I saw you compete in Toronto congratulations.”
Treasure will not be able to train with the team at Kansas State University, and will be training on her own heading into the Olympics.
The dinner dance and silent auction takes place on August 22nd at the Coast Inn of the North, with tickets found at the front desk.
Tickets are $30 with all proceeds going directly to Treasures training efforts.
