Prince George off to strong start for building permit values in 2024

The City of Prince George is off to a strong start for building permit numbers this year when compared to 2022 and 2023.

According to a report that will go before Prince George City Council at tomorrow’s (Monday) meeting, the city issued a total of 28 building permits worth a combined $12.6 million.

The two driving forces behind last month’s values were eight commercial alteration permits worth $2 million, and six new single-family dwellings worth a combined $2.9 million.

Additionally, there were two new institutional buildings with a combined value of $2.2 million, and two new mobile homes.

2023 was a down year for building permit numbers, following a record year in 2022.

Other items on tomorrow’s busy agenda include the Mayor Yu’s first report on his expenses, and a review of last year’s road and sidewalk capital projects.

The full agenda for tomorrow’s meeting can be found here.
