With federal elections kicking up a gear, elections BC offices find themselves in need of workers.
Diane Benson is spokesperson for Elections Canada, and says an election like this will see the hiring of close to 250,000 workers across the country.
She says that leaves many openings in need:
“Now what that breaks down to is that each returning officer has to hire somewhere between 650 and 700 workers to make the election happen in that riding.”
The PG area has two immediate ridings; the Cariboo – Prince George, and the PG Peace River – Northern Rockies.
Benson says this is a great way for younger individuals to learn about the system, as anyone aged 16 and up can apply.
