They led 33-28 at the half but the UNBC Timberwolves suffered their first loss at the Canada West men’s basketball tournament in Winnipeg.
The top-ranked Victoria Vikes outscored UNBC 52-35 in the second half to give the two-time defending champion Vikes an 80-68 victory over the Timberwolves before 358 fans.
Spencer Ledoux had another monster game for UNBC posting 24 points and nine rebounds.
Victoria was led by star shooter Diego Maffia who notched a game-high 34 points, on 14-for-40 shooting. Elias Ralph also chipped in with 25 points in the win.

The 12th-ranked Timberwolves pulled off upset victories over UBC (86-76) and Manitoba (84-78) in their first two games to reach the Final Four.
UNBC will play in the Bronze Medal game Sunday at 4pm PT against the Calgary Dinos who fell 103-93 in overtime to the Winnipeg Wesmen in the second semi-final.
Winnipeg is coached by former UNBC coach Mike Raimbault.
