Chase Witala is the latest Prince George Cougar to forge an NHL connection.
The 20-year-old winger has earned an invite to the Dallas Stars rookie camp after being passed over in his draft year.
Witala’s point totals have increased with every season he’s played in the WHL, and 2014/2015 saw him lead the Cougars in goals (38) and rank second in points (69).
The PG product has enjoyed considerable success in Northern BC, and was selected by the Cougars in the 5th round of the 2010 Bantam Draft.
He patched on the ‘A’ for the 2014/2015 season, and recently earned the Dorothy Johnson Memorial Award, as voted by fans.
Witala, Brad Morrison, Sam Ruopp, and Jared Bethune will represent the Cats in the Traverse City NHL Prospects Tournament this September.
Jansen Harkins and Tate Olsen will stay in BC for Pentiction’s Young Guns tournament, while newly acquired winger Jesse Gabrielle will head to Buffalo for a mini-tournament with the Bruins.
