Residents of the Hart have made it known, they want a local Skate park.
The City is now pursing concept designs for a new skate area in Darren Fitzpatrick Bravery Park, as well as considering other improvements to the park to create a community destination.
New Line Skateparks has been brought in to prepare these concept designs and cost estimates. That team is perhaps best known for previously designing and constructing Carrie Jane Gray Skate Park back in 2001.
The Skate park is under consideration in the 2016 Capital Expenditure plan for funding of around $500,000, for a 9,000 square foot park.
While suggested improvements to Darren Fitzpatrick Park – including upgrades to its dog park, and a more accessible trail – will also be considered in future budget discussions.
