PG Sports Hall of Fame:
Five new inductees, headlined by the late Amanda Asay, are headed to the Prince George Sports Hall of Fame.
Today (Thursday), the Board of Directors announced Asay along with Kenny Lally (Boxing), Megan Tandy (Biathlon), Joe Rea (Wheelchair Curling) and Edna Stitt (Baseball, Softball, Hockey) will be honoured for their accomplishments.
At the time of her passing, Asay was the longest-serving member of the Baseball Canada Women’s National Team program.
This year’s banquet will be held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel on Saturday, April 6th.
On this same evening, the Sports Hall of Fame will be recognizing 14 youth athletes in the Rising Star Category.

In a matchup of conference leaders, the (34-11-5) Vancouver Canucks continue a 5-game road trip tonight (Thursday 4:00) against the (31-10-9) Boston Bruins.
The Canucks, riding a 12-game point streak, are first in the NHL overall standings and lead the league in goal differential with a +60 total.
The Bruins lead the Eastern Conference and are just two points behind Vancouver in the overall standings.

WHL:
The Prince George Cougars host the (25-18-4-4) Victoria Royals on Friday night at 7:00 and Saturday night at 6:00.
The Royals lost 2-0 Wednesday night to the Rockets in Kelowna.
Prince George leads the BC Division by 10 points over Victoria.
The (33-15-0-2) Cougars are third in the Western Conference, three points behind the (34-12-2-1) Portland Winterhawks and a point back of the (33-17-1-2) Everett Silvertips.

The (13-21-3) Prince George Spruce Kings are headed to the Okanagan for a pair of road games this weekend.
They visit the (24-12-0-2) Salmon Arm Silverbacks on Friday and the (27-7-2-2) Penticton Vees on Saturday.

With 17 regular season games remaining, the Spruce Kings are last in the 8-team Interior Division, three points behind the (14-20-3-1) Merritt Centennials and five back of the (16-23-2) Bucks.

BC Elite Hockey League:
The U18 Cariboo Cougars play the (17-11-1-1) Valley West Giants Saturday morning at 10:00 and the (18-10-1-1) Okanagan Rockets Sunday morning at 8:00 at the BC Elite Hockey League showcase in Chilliwack.
Cariboo is on a 4-game win streak.
With four games remaining in their regular season, the (24-6-2) U18 Cougars are in second place, two points behind the (24-4-2-2) Vancouver North East Chiefs and one point ahead of the (24-5-1) Fraser Valley Thunderbirds.
Cariboo will conclude at Fraser Valley on Feb 24th and 25th.

Canada West basketball:
The UNBC Timberwolves conclude their regular season in Canada West basketball with home games against the Saskatchewan Huskies on Friday night at 6:00 and 8:00 and Saturday night at 5:00 and 7:00.
The women play first followed by the men.
