Public health nurse chimes in on back to school routines

With September, and back to school, just around the corner a local health advocate wants to help get kids back in routine.

Public Health Nursing Manager Karen Wonders says parents should be mindful, and start a little early:

“Routines are, they’re really important for all of us I think. But particularly for younger children as well because it really helps children to feel safe and secure and it really teaches them to know whats expected of them.”

Wonders says kids should be getting at least 9 hours of sleep per night, 60 minutes of physical activity a day, and should incorporate healthy eating habits including breakfast, which is traditionally the most skipped meal of the day.

Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
