It’s a sweet deal for the workers of the Rogers Sugar refinery in Vancouver.
Unionized employees ratified a five-year contract today (Thursday) that includes increases in health benefits, wages and maintaining a work-life balance for members.
Members voted 94% in favour of the new deal. A tentaive agreement was reached between both parties last week.

The strike began in September of 2023, when 140 workers walked off the job.
It also resulted saw sporadic shortages of sugar on grocery store shelves, especially through the holidays, across western Canada.
