If you did not get a chance to visit the Ice Oval last weekend, you may not have another chance for a while.
After opening for the first time this winter on Saturday (January 20), the Ice Oval has announced they are closed again until temperatures drop and their crews can do maintenance.
The forecast offers no relief, Environment Canada is projecting daytime highs above freezing and as high as +7 for the next week, with overnight lows barely scraping freezing.
Only having five open days by January 24th has amplified calls to refrigerate the oval, which would cost between $5-6 million but allow the oval to stay open during mild winters like this year and last year.
