Yukon rockers heading our way

Canadian rockers Speed Control are Prince George bound after a performance at the Para-Pan Am Games!

The band tends to stray from the traditional, and this ‘combination tour’ will be no different.

The group will be making several stop for their RAWK Camps.

“It’s basically the Jack Black School of Rock but condensed into 3-5 days,” explains Speed Control’s Graeme Peters, “You show up, and in 3 days take kids who have never even played instruments before, and at the end of the camp they’re playing a couple songs as a full group, and acting as our opening band!”

A RAWK Camp is scheduled in Burns Lake and Grassy Plains from the 17th-22nd.

Campers only need to show up ready to learn.

“We’re fully sponsored by Yamaha, so they provide all the instruments for the camps, so we can go into any community, be it large or small, and have a full, awesome rig of rock for these kids!”

Speed Control will play at Nancy O’s tonight (Saturday).
