Local society warns that bears and backyard fruit trees don’t mix

Many homes in the PG area have fruit trees in backyards, and one society is warning that unpicked trees are a major bear attractant.

President of the Northern Bear Awareness Society Dave Bakker, says they have a new resource for clearing out unwanted fruit:

“So we set up a Facebook page called “Prince George Fruit Exchange” where people can directly connect with each other, swap or pick up fruit type of thing, or say hey my tree needs clearing.”
