PG to see upwards of 15cm of snow as storm front passes

Over 10 centimetres fell overnight in Prince George with another five expected today (Tuesday) according to Environment Canada.

Meteorologist, Alyssa Charbonneau told MyPGNow.com that once the storm is over, the cold snap is going to come in right behind it – however, the weather office remains undecided on issuing an extreme cold warning.

“It depends on whether we are going to be meeting that actual threshold or not. This is the case where I would say keep an eye on your local forecast and to check the weather conditions especially if you are spending time outside to dress appropriately.”

Daytime highs are expected to bounce between -20 and -30 with overnight lows getting as frigid as -44 between tomorrow (Wednesday) and Sunday.

“There will be some very cold weather on our way as it will be significantly colder than normal, which is going to be a big shock as we have had warmer weather, especially through December,” added Charbonneauu.

She added communities like Fort Saint James and Houston saw six centimetres of snow.
